Marwood London
One of the aspects of my role at Crane Brothers that I enjoy the most is meeting with great people, who like us, are passionate about their products and the processes they utilise.
After my recent trip this was reinforced with visits to a number of the brands we work with including a handful of English companies, producing hand-made items, which are devoted to continuing hundreds of years of tradition to create contemporary accessories such as neckties and jewellery. They include Drakes, Alice Made This, Fox Umbrellas, Cheaney and Marwood London.
Marwood work with a handful of artisans including a company called Leavers Lace who is based in Nottingham, an area in England historically known for its lace manufacturing.
The handmade neckties and bow ties incorporate archival lace patterns and are beautiful and unique accessories perfect for Weddings and Special occasions.
The woven ties are made with silk produced in a historic mill based in Suffolk, silks are developed from hand-drawn designs with the cloth being hand cut, assembled and then finished with a bullion knot and staircase tipping - a diamond shaped lining behind the tip of each tie.
We have just received our first shipment from Marwood London.
