I am a serious war movie nerd, it's a combination of a childhood filled with Commando comics, Airfix models and movies like Where Eagles Dare and The Guns of Navarone.
If I could pick one word to describe this film it would be harrowing.
Christopher Nolan has done an excellent job. War is a terrible thing and he has portrayed it as such: honestly and respectfully.
