It focuses on the work of Noel Carrington who was one of the most influential figures of the 20th Century in the commissioning, editing and publishing of children's picture books including the autolithography of 1930s Pere Castor albums, Puffin Picture Books, Abbatt Toys, Eric Ravilious and the Penguin Forces Book Club.
