Yokai Parade: Supernatural Monsters from Japan
If you're looking for something to do on a rainy day (perhaps with children in tow) Auckland Central City Library is co-hosting an international touring exhibition ‘Yokai Parade: Supernatural Monsters from Japan’ on from 29 September to 6 November 2022.
The exhibition represents Japan’s Yokai (Japanese folkloric imaginary monsters) culture from ancient periods to the present day in various forms including picture scrolls, prints, movies, toys and in their pop culture Manga and Anime.
‘Yokai Parade: Supernatural Monsters from Japan’ is organised by Auckland Council Libraries in collaboration with the Consulate-General of Japan in Auckland and the Japan Foundation.

The Exhibition Gallery is located on Level 2 of the Central City Library and closes at 6pm, Monday-Friday.
