Wearing Denim with Tailoring
Denim is an affordable and durable cloth that can work in a myriad of ways. When it is well and worn in the right way it adds an extra dimension to any man’s wardrobe.
Jeans are difficult to get right, many of us have issues with shape and we all fondly remember that pair we wore until they fell off us. Wearing a pair of denim jeans with a tailored blazer is a delicate operation; if the jeans are too full or tight in the leg then the silhouette can be all wrong.
As menswear becomes more casual one question we hear a lot is can I wear jeans and tailoring together. The answer is a definitive yes but obviously like all items in your wardrobe (formal and casual) the choices need to be well considered.
One way to get exactly what you desire is to get your jeans custom made, in much the same way as you would get a suit made. You can choose your fabric and wash and more importantly have them made to fit properly, much like your old favourites that you’re loathed to part with.
Our custom jeans come in two different makes, for two different types of style: Standard or Traditional. Our traditional make incorporates sartorial details drawn from our tailoring heritage such as AMF pick stitching, hidden rivets, coin and ticket pockets and much more including personalisation options. Our Standard mixes dressed down elegance with all the signature elements of high-quality denim jeans.
Custom Denim gives you a soft hand feel and the comfort of stretch. We offer 9 vintage washes from Italian Mill Candiani ( the most sustainable denim mill in the blue denim world) in a range of dark blues and blacks through to faded light blues and greys.
