Mackintosh: The Original

The story of Mackintosh is a story well told.

There are very few fashion brands that have an entire genre of clothing named after them. Mackintosh is one.

The key date in the brand's history is 1823, when Mr. Charles Macintosh patented his method of rubberising cotton to create a waterproof fabric.

At the time coat fabrics were largely restricted to cotton and in a country like Great Britain something that didn't keep a man dry was sadly lacking so the innovation was significant. 

Mackintosh is a coat for the rain, fully waterproof, still based in Cumbernauld, a town outside the Scottish city of Glasgow, and still proudly made in the UK. 

Transcending fashion but always in fashion it is an absolute staple in any mans wardrobe. 

London had 165 days of rain last year, Wellington averages 132 and Auckland had 176.
