Introducing Awling - Modern British Belts
by Murray Crane
When we curate our stores we scour the world for items that enhance our own collections. Special and unique products amongst the best in their field, preferably made by hand in small numbers. Awling Belts fit the brief: Made in England this "Modern British Belt" blends traditional leather, materials and techniques with simple functionality and a modern aesthetic. The result is a product you want to wear that will effortlessly elevate any casual outfit.
The Awling design approach blends traditional English materials and techniques with modern nuances. During the creative process details are pared back and distilled to their essence. This simplification creates a strong design philosophy and also highlights the quality of their materials. Furthermore all of Awling's leathers are premium vegetable tanned cowhide. They use the original leather surface, or top grain, and hand select the hides to ensure the highest of quality.
As founder Chris Goldstraw puts it - "Awling’s story began with a search for belts made well by experienced hands, whose design was considered, functional and individual. I couldn’t find those belts. So here we are - Awling began in 2017, with a desire to make really good belts."
