Crane Brothers Denim
by Murray Crane
I’ve had a desire to produce a denim line for a very long time, so if I was going to do one I wanted it to be something special.
Jeans might come from a different clothing tradition than tailoring, but they're a fundamental part of any man's wardrobe and with Crane Brothers Denim, we can now make them with the same level of craft and construction that's usually reserved for handmade suiting.
After all, jeans are an item that many of you wear every day - all the more reason for them to be perfect.
Jeans, of course, live and die on the quality of their denim, and our denim is woven in Italy in partnership with Candiani Denim. We’ve always gone to where the best artisans are, and with Candiani it felt like a perfect fit. A family run business founded in 1938 in a tiny town near Milan, Italy, it’s renowned for its expertise in artisan textiles and responsible production, and leads the market in sustainability.
Our house cut is smart, adaptable and timeless - we've used a classic straight leg with a touch of shape to it, and a slightly higher rise so as to better pair with tailoring, finished with a leather back patch.
The programme encompasses three ready-to-wear models alongside a comprehensive made-to-measure jean service, the only one of its kind in the country, offering dozens of weight, wash and hardware choices, as well as fully personalised fit. Many men feel excluded from buying denim due to fit issues, so the ability to offer a fully tailored service is both exciting and necessary.
Crane Brothers Denim jeans are available now in-store and online, and if you are interested in exploring the new made-to-measure programme, make an appointment to come see us - we'd love to help.
