Art Month Sydney
I am looking forward to getting back to Sydney in March, as it is Art Month. Every March Art Month celebrates contemporary art in Sydney by working with over 200 galleries, exhibitions and events.
There are some great initiatives including emerging artists award; a new acquisitive art award open to unrepresented Australian artists nationally.
There is also a discussion, co-presented with Harper's Bazaar exploring the relationship between art and fashion and includes talks by Mitchell Oakley Smith who has written for Architectural Digest, Art Monthly, Belle, CNN, GQ, Harper's Bazaar, Monument, The Australian, Wish and Vogue Living, and edits and publishes quarterly men's journal Manuscript.
He is the author of three books on art, fashion and design including his latest Art / Fashion in the 21st Century (Thames and Hudson).
New Zealand born photographer Derek Henderson will also speak. As well as his work in fashion photography Derek also exhibits work nationally and internationally.
