Wellington
I spent the weekend in Wellington with the family and we had a fantastic time. Normally I am only there for business.
The weather was great, always a bonus and the restaurants were up their normal high standard.
I am a staunch supporter of Auckland's many great restaurants but I have to say that across the board Wellington does it better. Nikau, Floraditas, Capitol, Salty Pidgin, Loretta and Ombra were all great. Te Papa, The Dowse and The National War Museum all had world class exhibitions (free) and I even used public transport.
Some new retail has opened, including the very good Precinct 35 and the dealer galleries are as good as ever: Hamish McKay and Peter Mcleavey get special mention.
Wellington.
