Movember
by Murray Crane
I am really pleased to have Crane Brothers involved, in a small way, with Movember this year and to be able to dedicate it to my dear friend Chris Abbott. Chris was an incredibly talented photographer who I had the pleasure of working with (and calling a friend) who lost his life nearly sixteen years ago.
Crane Brothers has been blessed with a fantastic community of men: fathers, grandfathers, husbands and partners, uncles, brothers, nephews and friends. Our own team has a healthy proportion of men and over the last 25 years I have personally seen many of our Crane Brothers alumni graduate and go on to achieve their own personal milestones.
Mental health issues are real and affect us all in different ways. COVID has personally reminded me of the importance of friendship and support. Too many of us, myself included, feel that we don't need to stop and reflect on how we are feeling. It takes something like Movember to help normalise these issues and make us stop and think.
Given my complete ineptitude at growing facial hair I've roped in Rob Niwa this year to be the poster boy for Crane Brothers: he just needs to think about growing a moustache and it appears. He has also been beside me for a long time as a friend and colleague offering the sort of selfless support we all need from time to time.
So please support Rob's efforts: they will be impressive and help us make our donation significant. We are pledging $5.00 for every online sale we make in November.
