Hotels
One thing that has become obvious through all my dealings with clients, as well as local and international visitors, is that there is a lack of good boutique hotel space in Auckland.
Last week I dropped some friends back to the Mercure at the bottom of Queen Street. They weren't there by choice, but it dawned on me that this was an absolute gem waiting to be re-devleoped. It commands one of the best views in Auckland and is adjacent to some of the city's best luxury shopping, the Britomart precinct and Waiheke ferries.
It has a rooftop restaurant, rooms on a large floor plate, could easily recieve a facelift and has the potential to be a great modern hotel.
Just saying.
