Diary Of My Discontent: Saturday April 6
Once again our rates are paying for a major event, this one a running race that will completely lock down the CBD for the next day.
Millions of dollars have been spent on traffic management and road closures for the forecasted crowds and the " international television exposure" of Auckland City.
This was promoted as one of the main driving factors in validating the extreme closures experienced by the central business district.
These photos were taken this morning as I walked to work: First World or Third World ?
Surely someone at Council is capable of at least making sure the streets are cleaned ad rubbish is removed.
Isn't that their reason for existing or have they taken their eye off the ball once agan?
