Cornwall Park
The Huia Lodge Tea Rooms at Cornwall Park have closed and it appears that they are being refurbished. The Trust that runs them is looking for a new operator.
What a great opportunity to do something amazing; The Park is such a great resource for Aucklanders and Tourists alike but the Cafe is seriously under utilized.
Imagine how good it could be if it was taken over by a Hip Group, Mantells or Ostro type operator. Lets avoid the Corporate takeover of our public spaces.
I am positive that it would quickly become a must visit for International visitors and a great venue for Weddings.
They could plant an organic garden on the side of the mountain and grow their own produce and run their own livestock. Serve Ice Cream ( salted caramel not hokey pokey ) to hoards of summer visitors and brunch to people wanting to escape the Citys challenges.
There is a stack of parking, great views and lots of lovely trees to sit under.
Let's hope they have the vision to replace the Asparagus and Sausage Rolls with Quinoa, Organic Lamb and Roasted Beetroot.
