Sunday, Served Right

I’m really loving Sunday lunches lately. There’s something about the slower pace that feels like a small luxury — no midweek pressure, no clock-watching, just time to enjoy a proper meal. Onslow does an excellent Sunday lunch, and Ada offers a more rustic, set-menu approach that’s equally rewarding in its own way. I made it to Ada this week.
Their Suckling Pig Sunday is a masterclass in confident, ingredient-led cooking. Chef Alfie Ingham centres the meal around perfectly roasted suckling pig — crisp skin, tender meat, and a rich sherry jus that ties everything together.
The sides are just as well considered: rosemary potatoes, beans with trotters, and a sharp salad that cuts through the richness with ease. Dessert, a rhubarb galette with Chantilly, lands exactly where it should — comforting and not overly sweet.
At $59pp, it’s relaxed, generous dining that feels both grounded and quietly celebratory.
