Neptune Papers No. 9
Neptune Papers is an independent publication dedicated to great interiors and considered conversations - exploring how people live, create and shape the spaces around them.
The ninth issue continues the magazine’s measured, deliberate approach. It resists novelty and trend in favour of depth, continuity and restraint, reading less like a seasonal release and more like a collected volume - one designed to be returned to rather than skimmed.
At the centre of this issue is La Cavalerie, the Provençal estate once restored by the late couturier Emanuel Ungaro and now carefully stewarded by his daughter Cosima Ungaro and her husband Austin Feilders. The story is not framed as a transformation, but as an ongoing act of care. Ungaro’s personal history - from the son of Italian tailors who fled Fascism to one of Paris’s defining designers - anchors the narrative, as does his enduring connection to Provence. Under Cosima and Austin’s guidance, the estate has evolved quietly into a hospitality project and artisanal olive oil operation, grounded in local craft and long-term thinking. The emphasis is on stewardship rather than reinvention, continuity rather than spectacle.
Elsewhere, Neptune Papers No. 9 brings together a wide and thoughtful cast - François Halard, photographer and chronicler of interiors and artists’ lives; Maria Grazia Chiuri, Creative Director of Dior; André Balazs, hotelier and cultural patron; Athena Calderone, creative director and founder of Eyeswoon , the design and lifestyle platform; Jamie Wyeth, painter and chronicler of American life - each contributing to a broader meditation on place, work and the value of things made with intention.
The quality of imagery and production remains a defining strength. Photography is reproduced with clarity and depth, given space to breathe across generous spreads, while the paper stock and restrained layout reinforce a sense of permanence. It is thoughtful, assured production - quietly confident, and designed to last.
