We were very sorry to hear of Matt Arnold’s passing.
His work with Tim has been part of our world for a long time. The early site they made for us set the tone: clear, reduced, and resolved. Nothing unnecessary. Just the right decisions, made with conviction. The Best Awards recognised it with a Gold—one of many acknowledgements their work received—but more importantly, it set a standard.
New ideas, new collections—fashion is always moving. There is constant adjustment, refinement, a degree of play. But underneath it all, you need a strong point of view. Matt understood that instinctively. He shared mine, and made it better—sharper, more disciplined, more resolved through his own talent and direction.
We have changed over time, as we should. But the work still holds up.
Fifteen years on, it still resonates. It hasn’t dated. It hasn’t softened. It remains direct and assured.
And there have been many moments, when an easier or more commercial path presents itself, where I’ve felt Matt’s stare. A quiet reminder to hold the line. To keep the work honest.
That stays with you.
Our thoughts are with Kate, his family, and with Tim and the Sons team.
