Fast and the Formulaic - New F1 Movie Disappoints

I managed to see the new F1 movie this week - more like Fast & Formulaic.

It trundles along a well-worn track—predictable plot, cardboard characters, and emotional beats you can see coming like a slow out-lap. Sure, there are a few decent action sequences, but nothing the real sport doesn’t deliver better every other Sunday -without the overuse of CGI or a pit wall full of clichés.

At times it felt less like a racing film and more like a rom-com in overalls—Love Actually… at 300kph. Add in the relentless product placement (yes, we know what brand of energy drink he’s sipping) and it all starts to feel more like an ad campaign with a love story than a film about racing.
