Lesa

Embla remains one of my favourite restaurants to visit when in Melbourne. Wellingtonian Christian McCabe (ex Matterhorn and Town Mouse) has a knack of getting things just right.

Now Christian and head chef Dave Verheul have opened a new and relaxed dining room above the original wine bar and restaurant.

They've called the new restaurant Lesa – an old Norse word meaning 'to gather' – and the plan is to embrace a slower dining pace.

It boasts a four-course set menu and (thankfully) no shared plates. You can actually choose your own meal.
