From the cutting room floor
Farheen Hajira has been with Crane Brothers for ten years. She cut her teeth as a Workroom Assistant whilst still studying and is now Production Manager.
This role means she is responsible for overseeing all Crane Brothers production activities, both in Italy and New Zealand. “I plan and produce garments locally and with our European factories overseeing sampling and design changes as well as all ready to
wear and made to measure production.
My job entails real-time tracking of all our individual garments so we are aware of their status. At any one time, we can have in excess of 700 individual orders in make and each order consists of numerous unique details so it is a complex and challenging process.
I am constantly working towards delivering exceptional quality and standard on time."
After gaining her degree in fashion design, patternmaking and garment construction, Farheen and her husband immigrated to New Zealand in 2003. “We had heard a lot about New Zealand, so we decided to explore this place. We fell in love with it and decided to settle here.”
Crane Brothers currently has team members from Korea, India, China and Russia, working together under the same roof which always makes shared lunches interesting.
This diversity helps shape the culture of the company.
